Budweiser Clydesdales 2008 Super Bowl Commercial

I’m a Steelers fan, so I’ll admit, I was pretty pleased that the Giants managed to pull off the upset on the Patriots last night. I mean, two out of the three years the Pats won the Super Bowl this decade, they beat us in the AFC championships. Let’s just say that the Pats aren’t exactly my favorite NFL team…
At any rate. I did watch the whole game, all the while keeping my eye out for the newest Budweiser commercial featuring the Clydesdales. And I about died. As someone who just saw all the Rocky movies in the past year, I highly appreciated the Rocky-esque workouts “Hank” picked up from the various movies. The only thing that would have made it better was a trot up those steps in Philadelphia to the Rocky statue. And I kept wondering if Hank was our foal from the American Dream Budweiser Horse Commercial from a few years back. I like to think he was. Talk about the classic, American “pull-yourself-up-by-your-toe-clips” story.
Sound is necessary to watch the following video. It just doesn’t have the same effect without “Gonna Fly Now” playing in the background.

Shaquille O’Neal posing as a jockey in a vitamin water commercial was also hilarious. The special effects guys did a superb job of making it look like Shaq really was riding that poor horse in the race. And the real jockeys at the end barely reach his belly button. If you never watch another Superbowl ad in your life, you need to watch this one.

And finally, I have to post the Ben Roethlisberger American Idol ad. One: it’s Big Ben from the Steelers. Two: it’s funny. And Three: it’s the Steelers!

I always keep and eye out for the Bud commercials too, I especially like the older one where they horses are playing football. This one was awfully cute too. Usually I don’t watch the game, but I’m from New York and it was a good game for a change.

I love that original commercial as well. If you ever feel the need to watch, I’ve got that one and some of my other favorites posted on http://regardinghorses.com/2007/12/09/training-the-budweiser-clydesdales/.

I didn’t watch the game so was glad you had links to these commercials. The last one is hysterical.

Glad you liked them. I can just sit and watch these (and the other Bud Clydesdale ads) over and over again.
