Bringing More Committed Visitors To Your Horse Blog

Mar 03, 2008 5 Comments by

You probably don’t know, but besides being an avid horse blogger, cat owner, wife, and therapeutic riding volunteer, I’m also an internet marketing professional.

My job rocks. I work for a guy who is recognized as one of the best in the business (he speaks at all of the major industry conferences where he receives the highest audience ratings). We’re small, pretty laid-back, and very good at what we do, which is bringing more people to your website. Actually, we bring more of the right people to your website. So instead of just increasing traffic, we work to bring more of your target market to your site in order to increase conversions (page views, sales, leads, contacts, comments). By focusing on the people who actually want your information or product, we are helping them find what they want and you to meet your website goals. It’s a win win situation!

It’s pretty much a marketing industry, but it’s way better than offline marketing tactics. When you market online, you always know exactly how effective your efforts are. We can track how many people come to your horse blog, how they got there, how long they stayed, what they looked at, what they did, and if they’ve come back more than once. And we can use this information to make your site better.

Lest you think this is a shameless plug for my company (it’s not!), I wanted to tell you about this awesome conference coming in April. I know there’s been a bit of talk in the horse blogging community lately about how to bring more participating traffic to our sites, so I thought I’d share some resources with you. The conference is Small Business Marketing Unleashed, and it’s being held in Houston, TX April 21-22. This conference is geared toward small business owners and newbies to the internet marketing industry. It’s being run Jennifer Laycock, a good friend of ours and pretty knowledgeable and influential person in the industry. Plus, she’s just plain fun.

I’m going to be attending the Unleashed conference, and can’t wait. I’ll be going with a two-fold purpose: 1. to learn how to better market this blog, and 2. to learn how to better aid our clients in marketing their sites.

The speakers are advertised as some of the best in the industry; and it’s not just marketing speak. I’ve met and worked briefly with many of them. They really really know their stuff. Plus, they’re great people. And they really know their stuff. I’m going to have a very difficult time choosing sessions because I want to go to them all! Of course, I skip the ones being run by my boss since I am fortunate enough to learn from him every day.

The conference is being held at a super-cool location, The Northwest Forest Conference Center. One of their buildings is a replica of the Alamo. It’s not your traditional conference hotel location. It is being kept small on purpose (only around 200 attendees in all) for the optimal learning and networking experience. The first day will be educational sessions, and the second day will be hands-on workshops. Apparently, they will be giving away flash drives loaded with information presented at the conference as well as other useful and practical materials.

At any rate, you can read all about the conference and location at the Small Business Marketing Unleashed Conference website. It’s full of great information. If you have a small business and want to learn how to better market online, or if you have some extra time and money and are super-serious about your horse blogging, you should come! Make sure to let me know if you do, it will be fun to meet you.

I can not wait to see what you have to say in April!

Have to agree with JDP too- Darren at PROBLOGGER is fantastic! He is another one who always seems to come up with just the right advice at the perfect time for my frustration level.
