		<description>Love the aspect of the human anatomy,    as riders we want we desire to be balanced, most of us are one sided just as our horses are....the psoas is the deepest muscle in the body, we cannot as physios &quot;get to it&quot; in horses, in humans we can can only do certain stretches and ultrasound procedures.....bravo.....as humans breathing is actually the best technique to accumulate body awareness, yoga done in warm situations is a good way to  get in touch with those deeper reaches; we have stretches for the Psoas, but you need to be warmed up before and &quot;BREATH&quot;.

		<description>Very interesting and useful information here.  The lifting of one rein is also useful for just slowing a horse.  Ms. Goodnight&#039;s technique for using a pulley rein to stop the horse on a dime is good for the rider who has the presence of mind to do this in order to stop a runaway.  In Basic Training for a Safe Trail Horse is a description of how to use one rein on a bolting horse in a manner that doesn&#039;t cause the horse to lose balance but causes the horse to change his runaway or bolt mentality to a turn mentality.  It describes how to do this even in an area where there isn&#039;t a lot of space for turning.  This is a small, inexpensive paperback written especially for recreational riders who keep horses at home and want a horse to be as safe as a horse can be.  It shows how a rider/handler can relate to a horse as the alpha mare member of his herd and how this can result in a horse that is a true companion.  It is available at Amazon.com or questions can be sent to the author at safetrailhorse@gmail.com where an autographed copy can be obtained.</description>

		<description>Thank you for mentioning my post :) I find it quite strange that work on psaos and abdominal muscles isn&#039;t really included in any Teaching manual for instructors here in the UK. There seem to be some focus on bodywork at elite levels but I reckon that the sooner you sit well the better (saves years of un-learning bad habits). Looks like we just have to keep investigating and analysing across disciplines and other sports for more ideas.
