2010 Budweiser Clydesdales Super Bowl Ad

7 February 2010 6 Comments

I’d say this year was a bit of a drought as far as funny Super Bowl commercials go, and unfortunately my much-anticipated Budweiser Clydesdale ad left a lot to be desired in lieu of past efforts. Although, the little Clydesdale foal and the calf definitely get some points for being just plain cute. Considering the rest of the Budweiser ads were some of the best of the night, I thought they could have done a little better with this.

The whole Clydesdales and friends thing is getting a little old, now that we’re up to a dalmation, a donkey, and a cow. I wasn’t overly impressed with the 2009 Budweiser Clydesdale commercials either, so here’s to hoping for a better 2011.

Here are two of my favorites to remind us why we love the Clydesdales so much:

hahaha…JINX!!! I just did a post about the same thing! This cow ad almost didn’t run!!! We were almost totally horseless last night in the ads. I think the cow ad is better than no ad.

There are two Bud Bowl ads that stand out in my memory:
The 9?11 tribute (that still brings tears to my eyes to this day,) and the Football game between the horses and with the wild animals watching.. and the sheep streaker… Yeah. That one cracks us up- all of us- from Dear Husband to both boys.

Ah well—- enough horse folks talk, and I am sure the word will get back to Bud that they need some new creative equine juices on their team! ;)

    Kisses to Ace from me!

When I voted for the Clydesdale ad in the recent “Which commercial should we run?” campaign, I voted for the Clydesdale ad Just Because. After all, rumors did hit the news that there would be NO Clydesdale commercial this year. And that We Could Not Have. :)

But even I admit that this one wasn’t as good as in previous years.

We don’t want sentimentality in our commercials these days. There was a story on CBS Sunday Morning about how our expectations for commercials that hold our attention has changed.

These were two of my favorites too, also like the 911 tribute and most of the others. Yesterday’s wasn’t the best they could do with the perfect subjects they had to work with. Hope they get their act together for next year.

Thanks for posting! I missed the game so it was fun to see it, as well as the others.
