Will You Make Me Your World Equestrian Games Blogospondent?

Many of you who read Regarding Horses regularly joined this little community of passionate horse people during the 2008 Olympics. We had some of the best online coverage and discussion of the equestrian events right here on this one-woman blog. I wrote articles for months ahead of time and watched every single minute of the jumping, dressage, and eventing through the live online streaming so I could bring daily results and commentary.
Now I have the chance to do the same for the World Equestrian Games – but this time from …

Get The Inside Scoop On Your Favorite Three Day Eventing Riders & Their Horses!

When I was in Lexington a few weeks ago I had the distinct pleasure of meeting a wonderful fellow blogger, Courtney, who publishes the Three Days Three Ways blog. She started last April interviewing all the top three day event riders and posting the inside scoop on her blog. She has a knack for getting the good stories and funny quirks – not just the typical “how did you get into horses” kinda stuff. I’m gonna guess that Courtney’s friendly, fun, and quirky side brings that out in her interviewees …

2010 Budweiser Clydesdales Super Bowl Ad

I’d say this year was a bit of a drought as far as funny Super Bowl commercials go, and unfortunately my much-anticipated Budweiser Clydesdale ad left a lot to be desired in lieu of past efforts. Although, the little Clydesdale foal and the calf definitely get some points for being just plain cute. Considering the rest of the Budweiser ads were some of the best of the night, I thought they could have done a little better with this.

The whole Clydesdales and friends thing is getting a little old, now …

Backside at a Standardbred Horse Training & Harness Racing Farm

Last week I had the distinct pleasure of visiting a friend at the Standardbred horse racing farm where she and her husband work. He is the head trainer while she works as a groom as well as with training the young horses. They currently have 36 young trotters in training to harness race.
Of course, I’m always happy to be around horses of any kind, and as such have managed to glean a bit of knowledge about all kinds of disciplines. But this was my first experience with the harness racing …

Favorite Horse Stock Photography Websites

If you are like most other horse people, not much catches your attention like anything horsey … especially a great photo. I’m always looking for great horse pictures. Sometimes I need them for more formal uses, like in designing a print piece or logo, sometimes I need them to illustrate blog posts here on Regarding Horses, and sometimes I just want something cool to use as a desktop background on my laptop or BlackBerry.
And unless you know where to look, it’s not always easy to find that perfect horse photo …

Growing Up With Horses

I’m not usually big into surveys, but this is a fun horsey one that’s been making its way around the horse blogs lately. I’ve had so much fun reading On The Bit, Glenshee Equestrian, Grey Horse Matters, and others’ answers that I realized you might enjoy reading mine too. If you have any fun stories of your own for any of these questions, please do share in the comments!
(Hey mom, feel free to correct any of the early riding answers, as you probably remember better than I do!)
1. How old …

Go Steelers!
Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, here are the three Budweiser Clydesdale Commercials that aired during the 2009 Super Bowl.
Budweiser Clydesdale Playing Fetch

Budweiser Clydesdale Circus Commercial

Budweiser Clydesdale Generations

I must admit, I was  little disappointed with this year’s Budweiser horse ads. They lacked the usual class and more subtle humor. Of the three, I’d probably have to say I like the fetch commercial best. What do you think? Like em? Dislike em? Favorite? Favorite past Budweiser Clydesdale commercial?
I loved last year’s Super Bowl ad, Hank and the …
